Steps for Success

Step 1

Attend an Advising Meeting

Our International Education Coordinator, Karleigh King, is here to help you figure out your study abroad plans and to prepare you for your program. Karleigh is available for Walk-In Advising and Individual Advising Sessions.

  • Meet with the International Education Coordinator
  • Discuss program options and requirements
  • Learn about financial aid and funding opportunities
  • Get help with application materials and deadlines
  • Ask any questions about travel logistics and cultural expectations

Complete Your Application & Required Documentation

Before you travel, you must submit all necessary documents to the Study Abroad Office.

Get Your Passport & Visa

Passport

  • If you do not have a passport, but have applied and are waiting to receive it, you must complete a Passport Waiver form; email form to studyabroad@augusta.edu.
  • Check the expiration date – your passport must be valid six months beyond your return date.
  • Make sure to sign the page directly next to the photo page.

  • Some countries require visas before departure so start early!

  • Receive travel alerts and safety updates for your destination.
  • Helps the U.S. Embassy contact you in an emergency.

Register Your Technology and Request International DUO Access

Before traveling, make sure your AU devices are secure and comply with international travel policies.

  • Register your AU issued laptop, phone, and other devices with InfoEd.
  • If you require AU network access, submit a DUO International Access Request.
