READ BEFORE YOU APPLY! THE 2024-2025 FAFSA IS CHANGING.
Key Changes:
While the financial aid application process is relatively easy, individual circumstances may create complications. We highly encourage early application (as soon as possible after October 1st of the academic year in which the student plans to enroll), and a prompt response to any request for additional information from the Office of Student Financial Aid. It should be noted that incomplete files cannot be processed. Please let the financial aid office know if you need additional assistance or information.
Follow these simple steps to apply for financial aid at Augusta University:
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Allow up to 5 to 7 days for processing. Remember to list Augusta University (School Code 001579) as your institutions of choice.
The FAFSA will generate a Student Aid Report (SAR). Upon receipt, carefully read the instructions and check the SAR for accuracy. Make corrections if necessary. Students DO NOT need to submit the SAR to the Office of Student Financial Aid.
Check your POUNCE account to see if you have been selected for verification.
Students selected for verification will need to provide all of the required additional documents to the Office of Student Financial Aid.
If the verification process results in mandatory corrections, the Office of Student Financial Aid will resubmit the corrections to the federal processor. Turn-around time can take up to 2 weeks. Please take appropriate action and plan for some possible out-of-pocket expenses.
Accept your financial aid offer package.
After aid has been processed, students can accept or decline their loans via POUNCE.
Please note that if you are accepting loans as part of your offer package, you must complete your Master Promissory Note (MPN) & Entrance Counseling requirements on studentaid.gov.
Post-Baccalaureate students must also submit a Post-Baccalaureate Certification Form for any semester they wish to receive student loans. Turn-around time varies, so apply as early as possible.
