LEAP Week questions, answered

Participation and dates

LEAP Week is Augusta University’s extended orientation program for fall-entry students. It combines time on campus, a smaller group, a weekend track, and larger University traditions before fall classes begin.

Yes. LEAP Week is required for every fall-entry student.

See LEAP Week on the Dates & Deadlines page for the confirmed date range. That page is the shared source for date updates. Your Augusta University email provides the reporting time and schedule that apply to you.

Email leapweek@augusta.edu as soon as possible. The team will review your situation and explain the next step.

Tracks and schedules

LEAP Week has 16 interest-based tracks across Wellbeing, Leadership, Innovation, and Community. Your track is your smaller group for four weekend blocks. Every track also includes The BIG Idea and Playfair.

Compare all 16 tracks.

Your track and individual schedule are shared through official Augusta University messages. They are not maintained on the public website.

Email leapweek@augusta.edu as early as possible. A change depends on space and program logistics and cannot be guaranteed.

Follow the most recent official message sent to you. Reporting times, meeting places, transportation, or activity instructions may change as operating details are finalized.

Funding and optional purchases

LEAP Week is funded in part through Student Activity Fees and Augusta University.

During an off-campus track experience, you may choose to purchase personal items that are not part of the program. Augusta University does not cover those optional purchases. Your official track instructions will tell you what you need to bring.

Preparation, check-in, and transportation

Bring your JagCard, a charged phone, a refillable water bottle, and comfortable walking shoes. Choose clothing for Augusta’s August weather and the activities in your schedule. Your track instructions will note needs such as closed-toe shoes, water-ready clothing, or clothes that can get messy.

Your official LEAP Week messages provide your check-in time, location, and parking instructions. Follow the most recent message and use Campus Maps to find buildings and parking areas.

University transportation is planned for scheduled off-campus and intercampus track movements. Your schedule will provide meeting, pickup, and return information. Do not drive directly to a track location unless your official instructions specifically allow it.

If you are late, go to the meeting place in your schedule and check with LEAP Week staff. A group may already have departed. If heat, storms, or another condition changes an activity, watch your official messages and follow staff instructions.

Support and accessibility

Contact Testing & Disability Services as early as possible at tds@augusta.edu or 706-737-1469. Also email leapweek@augusta.edu so the teams can coordinate your participation.

Email leapweek@augusta.edu as early as possible. Staff can discuss the need with you and coordinate with the appropriate campus office.

Track activities and student evening programs are designed for fall-entry students. Family members and guests may attend only events identified as family-friendly in official Augusta University messages.
