Pre-College Outreach

Educators from Augusta & neighboring counties gain hands-on training within our Education & Training Laboratory.

High school students interested in biomedical sciences to participate in leading-edge cancer research & career exploration at the Georgia Cancer Canter. Spend 6 weeks alongside top cancer researchers & help advance novel research projects & learn key principles of cancer biology & laboratory investigation, gain hands-on laboratory experience, explore possible career paths, & benefit from individual mentoring & ongoing interactions with multidisciplinary researchers, students, & colleagues in the GCC community.

Students & trainees from throughout the US and the world come to the Georgia Cancer Center during the summer months to learn about and participate in cancer basic & clinical science and cancer prevention research.

The Georgia Cancer Center collaborates with the Georgia Statewide AHEC Network in its mission to respond to the problems of health professionals in rural & underserved areas.

The Georgia Cancer Center serves as the GYSTC@Augusta site & supports GYSTC’s mission to offer quality programs for teachers of STEM subjects to improve the teaching & learning process at the kindergarten through 8th grade levels.

A partnership between Aiken County Career & Technology Center (ACCTC), part of Aiken County Public School District (ACPSD), & the Georgia Cancer Center (GCC) to create a cancer research education pipeline for underrepresented local high school students. This program will connect promising students with cancer research immersion opportunities at GCC & support their pursuit of careers in cancer research, provide teachers with cancer research training to strengthen their knowledge, curriculum development, & instructional skills & educate students, families, and the community about cancer, risk factors, & health disparities.
