Occupational Health and Safety

Augusta University is concerned about the safety and welfare of its faculty, staff, students, and contractors. We are committed to alerting individuals to potential work-related health risks and counseling them on methods to avoid workplace hazards through a comprehensive occupational health and safety program.

Participation is mandatory for the following groups:

  • Veterinary care and animal husbandry staff
  • Faculty, students and staff listed on approved animal protocols
  • Members of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee
  • Facilities Management staff, Environmental Services staff, and Contractors who enter lab or vivarium areas.

New Personnel

New personnel should follow the steps outlined on the appropriate Access & Clearance page.

Annual Renewal

Annual renewal is required to maintain your clearance. To renew, complete the Occupational Health Risk Assessment.

Contractors

Contractors should follow the steps on the Animal Facility Access: Contractor page.
