The Associate Network Engineer's role is to ensure the stability and integrity of in-house data, video, voice, and wireless network services. This is achieved by planning, designing, and developing local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organization. In addition, the position will participate with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links.
The Audio Visual Installer, with direction from the Manager of AV Systems Engineering or delegates, performs AV equipment installation for new and refreshed audiovisual projects ranging from $1-$5 million annually. The AV Systems Installer/Technologist will catalog and manage the storage of equipment ordered, assemble racks with AV equipment wiring with the equipment following drawings provided by AV System Engineers, install system perm link cabling in walls, floor, and ceiling spaces following provided drawings and by local code and departmental requirements
Under general supervision, perform tasks to aid in the ongoing support of end-user environments including personal computers, mobile/handheld devices, and audio-visual equipment and peripherals. Work independently to research and resolve hardware and software problems and respond to client requests while only referring the most complex problems to Tier 2 or 3. Corrects hardware, software, and operational problems; maintains service logs; monitors problem/change activities and coordinates involvement of staff, clients, and vendors to ensure effective resolution of user problems.
The Cyber Institute's System Administrator (SA) is responsible for the effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure within the AU Cyber Institute. This individual participates in technical research and development to enhance the learning objectives and enable continuing innovation within the cyber institute. The AU Cyber Institute SA will work in conjunction with the AU IT team.
This position works under broad supervision from the Director of IT in the Georgia Cyber Innovation and Training Center, within the standards and guidelines of the department and Information Technology Services, and a dotted line supervision from the Manager of the School of Science & Cyber. The AV Technologist 1 will set up and operate variety of instructional technologies, video conferencing, and AV equipment collaborating with faculty and staff with an emphasis on excellent customer service.
This position analyzes, implements, and modifies application systems with responsibilities for planning, programming, testing, debugging, and deploying, within established standards, to support the organization's application systems in database, client-server, and internet environments. The incumbent consults with business systems analysts, other systems analysts, and users to identify functional and technical requirements.
Provide the wide range of technical experience required for all aspects of operational support of AU HPC services. Typical day-to-day tasks include monitoring, management, configuration, and issue resolution for Linux HPC clusters, storage, and ancillary research technology systems. On-demand tasks would include, but are not limited to, user management and support, application deployment, documentation, and consultation as an HPC SME.
