Instructional Design

Collaborate with our instructional designers to make your journey through course design, development and delivery a lot easier

Course Design & Development

Through one-on-one consultations, our instructional designers will help you create or improve your face-to-face, hybrid or online course, regardless of where you are in the design and development process.

Best Practices for Engagement & Teaching

Full engagement in a course only happens when students are engaged with the content, with other students, and with you, the instructor. Our instructional designers will help you build your course for engagement.

Course Design & Development

Through one-on-one consultations, our instructional designers will help you create or improve your face-to-face, hybrid or online course, regardless of where you are in the design and development process.

We can also assist you in transitioning your face-to-face course to the online environment, following best practices of online teaching and learning. We will tailor the following instructional design services to your needs:

Student Learning Objectives

Student learning objectives must be measurable, achievable and appropriate for the course level. Our instructional designers will review the learning objectives for your course and work with you to make any necessary edits.

Assessments

Course assessments measure whether students achieved the student learning objectives. In other words, they gauge whether students learned what you wanted them to learn in your course. Our instructional designers will work with you to ensure course assessments can effectively measure the learning objectives.

Learning Activities

Learning activities are more than just lectures (face-to-face or online), presentation slides and discussions. Our instructional designers will work with you to brainstorm, design and develop activities that incorporate active learning strategies, such as experiential learning. We will also work with you to ensure the learning activities align with the student learning objectives and the assessments.

Course Content & Accessibility

Course content must be accessible to all learners. Our instructional designers will help you design and develop accessible learning materials for your face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses. We will also work with you to ensure that the educational technologies you use in your courses are appropriate and align with the learning materials and student learning objectives.

Course Structure

Best Practices for Engagement & Teaching

Full engagement in a course only happens when students are engaged with the content, with other students, and with you, the instructor.

Our instructional designers will help you build your face-to-face, hybrid or online course in a way that students will be engaged in those three areas. They will also provide you with research-based teaching strategies that can enhance student engagement. If needed, our multimedia designers will also work with you and our instructional designers to create engaging multimedia elements for your course.
