Barry Goldwater Scholarship

The Barry Goldwater Scholarship supports outstanding students interested in research careers in the natural sciences, mathematics, and engineering. The scholarship covers undergraduate eligible expenses for tuition, fees, books, and room and board up to $7,500 per academic year for up to 2 years.

Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program

The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program broadens the student population that studies and interns abroad by supporting undergraduates who might not otherwise participate due to financial constraints.  The program aims to encourage students to study and intern in a diverse array of countries or areas and world regions.

Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals

The Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals is a fellowship that annually provides 75 American and 75 German young professionals, between the ages of 18½–24, the opportunity to spend one year in each other’s countries, studying, interning, and living with hosts on a cultural immersion program.

David L. Boren Scholarships and Fellowships

The David L. Boren Awards fund up to $30,000 for overseas study by U.S. undergraduate and graduate students seeking to develop advanced proficiency in a critical foreign language, gain first-hand experience living in another culture, and pursue a competitive career in national security and international affairs. Boren Scholars and Fellows study a wide range of critical languages, including Arabic, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese, and Russian. Applicants may also opt for Boren-administered Flagship Language Initiatives, which offer credit-bearing instruction in languages spoken in sub-Saharan Africa (French, Swahili, Akan/Twi, Wolof, and Zulu), Indonesian, Hindi, Urdu, and Turkish.

Foreign Affairs IT Fellowship

Funded by the U.S. Department of State, this two-year Fellowship program is a path to a career in the Foreign Service by providing academic funding for an IT-related degree, internships, professional development and mentorship – culminating in an appointment in the Foreign Service as an Information Management Specialist (IMS).

Fulbright U.S. Student Program

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, provided over $250,000,000 in 2004 to promote education and research in countries around the world. The Fulbright program is the largest U.S. international exchange program, offering about six thousand grants annually to both U.S. and foreign students, teachers, and researchers. Graduating seniors, graduates, and young professionals who are thinking of studying abroad are encouraged to apply.  

Fulbright UK Summer Institutes

The Fulbright UK Summer Institutes are three-to-four-week programmers for US undergraduate students, who have no or very little travel experience outside North America. Participants can explore the culture, heritage and history of the UK while experiencing higher education at a UK university. 

George J. Mitchell Scholarship

The George J. Mitchell Scholarship allows Americans to pursue one year of post-graduate study in any discipline offered at institutions of higher learning in Ireland and Northern Ireland. The US-Ireland Alliance sponsors this prestigious, competitive, national scholarship to enable American citizens between the ages of 18 and 30 to study at universities on the island of Ireland. 

Harry Truman Scholarship

The Harry Truman Scholarship is a prestigious award given to as many as 85 junior level students nationally. It awards $30,000 for graduate studies based on academic achievement, a record of leadership, and a future commitment to public service. 

Knight-Hennessy Scholars

The Knight-Hennessy Scholars develops a community of future global leaders to address complex challenges through collaboration and innovation. Scholars receive full funding to pursue any graduate degree at Stanford, including MD, MS, and PhD programs.

Marshall Scholarship

The Marshall Scholarship is awarded to as many as 40 students for two years of study at one of many British universities. It is also valued at $40,000 to $60,000 and is for graduate studies. 

National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship

The National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship funds a graduate research fellowship program that awards approximately one thousand $40,000 fellowships to support graduate study. The support lasts three years, and awardees are expected to work towards research-based master's or doctoral degrees.

Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans

The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans program honors the contributions of immigrants and children of immigrants to the United States. Each year, they invest in the graduate education of 30 New Americans—immigrants and children of immigrants—who are poised to make significant contributions to US society, culture or their academic field. Each Fellow receives up to $90,000 in financial support over two years, and they join a lifelong community of New American Fellows. 

Rhodes Scholarship

The Rhodes Scholarship provides $40,000 to $60,000 for two years of study at Oxford University in England. Thirty-two scholarships are awarded nationally each year. The Rhodes is a post-baccalaureate program based on superior academic achievement, intellectual initiative, creative and aggressive thinking, and the potential for future leadership. 

TYLENOL® Future Care Scholarship

The TYLENOL^® Future Care Scholarship awards $225,000 in scholarships each year to students pursuing careers in medicine and healthcare. The makers of TYLENOL^® offer 10 scholarships worth $10,000 each, followed by 25 scholarships worth $5,000 each, for students who plan to enroll in graduate programs in medical school, nursing, or pharmacy.

USAID Donald M. Payne International Development Graduate Fellowship Program

The USAID Donald M. Payne International Development Graduate Fellowship Program identifies and trains outstanding individuals for careers in the Foreign Service of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). USAID Foreign Service Officers work on the front lines of some of the most pressing global challenges of our times, including poverty, injustice, disease, environmental degradation, and conflict. Payne Fellows attend U.S. graduate programs throughout the country, participate in professional development activities in Washington D.C. and complete internships on Capitol Hill and at USAID Missions abroad.

Udall Undergraduate Scholarship

The Udall Undergraduate Scholarship supports second- and third-year students for leadership, public service, and commitment to issues related to the environment or Native American nations. It provides up to $7,000 for academic expenses, access to the Udall Alumni Network, and a five-day Scholar Orientation in Tuscon, Arizona.
