Captain Weston Lahr, a native of Fairfax Station, Virginia, is a distinguished military professional with a rich background in leadership and service. Graduating from Virginia Tech University and their Corps of Cadets with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Captain Lahr embarked on his military journey by commissioning as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Infantry.
His early years were marked by rigorous Airborne and Ranger training at Fort Benning, GA, before being assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Captain Lahr demonstrated exemplary leadership as a Platoon Leader for Charlie and Delta Companies, showcasing his commitment to excellence.
Captain Lahr's dedication took him to Afghanistan in support of Operation Resolute Support, where he served as the Executive Officer for 22 months in Alpha Company. Upon completing the Maneuver Captain’s Career Course, he continued to hone his skills at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center in Hohenfels, Germany, where he served as the Assistant Operations and Air Officer for 15 months.
Taking on new challenges, Captain Lahr assumed the role of Company Command for Blackfoot 1-4IN, showcasing his adaptability and leadership prowess. Currently residing in North Augusta, he serves as an assistant professor of military science at Augusta University, imparting his knowledge and experience to the next generation of military leaders.
Captain Lahr's outstanding service has been recognized through a plethora of awards and decorations, including the prestigious Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, among others.
