Community Engagement

Make a difference like no other

The Office of Community Engagement supports Augusta University's strategic plan, "Creating a Legacy Like No Other," by fostering mutually beneficial partnerships that enrich both the university and the community. We achieve this through engaged scholarship, academic programming, and initiatives that empower students as future leaders and changemakers.

Our mission is to advance Augusta University's institutional goals while addressing community needs, driving innovation, and making a lasting impact. This involves building robust university-community partnerships, supporting the engaged scholarship and activities of students, faculty, and staff, and fostering collaborative experiences that enhance the well-being of our region, nation, and world.

Connecting campus with community is at the heart of what we do. Join us in making our campuses and communities better and stronger, together. Let's Connect.

Making Connections

Connecting our Campus and Community

We work with partners across the River Region to make our communities stronger, help our neighbors stay healthier, and better prepare our workforce for the future. How? By making the right connections between community organizations and Augusta University colleges, schools, departments, faculty, and students.

Build and Grow Through Community

We believe both AU and our local communities benefit when we work together. We continue to nurture what we already have.

Learning by Integration

Community-engaged experiential learning works when we work together. Let’s move your service project from the idea phase to reality.

Connect Students with our Community

Community-Engaged Research

Working with researchers and scholars across the state of Georgia is essential to our mission. We're proud of the work we've done together.

Educational and Healthcare Resources

In order for our community to thrive, we believe that it is important to serve as a resource, offering access to a wide range of health and education.

Strong Future

Partnership & Community

We strive to create new partnerships with schools, neighbors, nonprofit organizations, and individuals from our community. It's our responsibility to use our abilities and resources for the greater good, creating better opportunities for everyone. When our campus and community connect, we all benefit.

Incorporating service-learning and other community engagement techniques into the classroom can be immensely rewarding. We're here to help make every stage of the process go smoothly, from finding a community partner to implementing the right curriculum. When students have the opportunity to work on projects in the community, everyone wins.
