MCG Early Decision Program Overview

Applicants for the 2025-2026 admissions cycle must submit their AMCASAmerican Medical College Application Service applications between May 30, 2025 & August 1, 2025.

Required Qualifications

Georgia Resident

Only Georgia residents will be considered for MCG's Early Decision Program. 

MCAT score of 509 or higher

Medical College Admissions Test

GPA of 3.6 or above

Total GPA's between 3.65 and 3.69 will be rounded to 3.7

Application Requirements

  • The AMCAS Primary Application must be submitted to AMCAS by August 1, 2025.
  • All application supplemental documents, which are items required in addition to the AMCAS application, should be returned one week after receipt of the secondary application and must be in the application file by  August 15, 2025.
  • EDP applicants must have taken the MCAT by  June 28, 2025.

Application Procedures

  • EDP applicants must commit to MCG if admitted. Applicants are unable to apply to other medical schools until a decision is made on their MCG application.
  • Applicants released from Early Decision must update the application type via the AMCAS portal to remain in consideration with MCG. 
  • Applicants who do not meet EDP requirements or are not invited for interview will be released to the regular decision pathway.
  • Applicants who apply and are interviewed through the Early Decision Pathway Program and are not accepted under the EDP application type must change to the Regular Decision Program Pathway, not another MCG Admissions Pathway.
  • EDP accepted students are guaranteed campus preference. Campus preference forms are sent to applicants once an acceptance offer is extended.
  • Early Decision Program applicants are typically notified of their acceptance by the second week in September, but are guaranteed to be notified of their acceptance no later than  October 1, 2025.
