Programs & Services

Supporting Student Success Every Step of the Way

The Center for Learning and Academic Support Services (CLASS) provides comprehensive academic support programs designed to help students thrive inside and outside the classroom. Through proactive outreach, targeted interventions, academic skill development, and collaborative partnerships, our programs empower students to overcome challenges, strengthen academic performance, and achieve their educational goals.

Whether you are seeking support after receiving an Early Alert, participating in supplemental instruction, attending a success workshop, or looking for additional academic resources, CLASS is here to help every step of the way.

Our Commitment to Student Success

At CLASS, we believe academic support should be proactive, personalized, and accessible. Our programs are designed to:

  • Identify challenges early.
  • Connect students with the right support.
  • Develop the skills needed for long-term success.
  • Empower students to achieve their academic and personal goals.

Early Alert Support

Early Support Leads to Student Success

The Early Alert program is a proactive student success initiative that identifies students who may be experiencing academic challenges early in the semester. Faculty can submit an Early Alert at any time when concerns arise regarding attendance, academic performance, participation, or other barriers to success.

Once an Early Alert is received, a CLASS success coordinator reaches out to the student to provide timely support, discuss available resources, and develop an individualized plan for success.

Early Alert Communication Timeline

Throughout the semester, CLASS will provide faculty and instructional staff with timely reminders, practical guidance, and webinar demonstrations to support the effective use of the Early Alert process.

Week 7

Mid-Semester Reminder and Webinar Demonstration
Faculty will receive examples of situations that may warrant an Early Alert, including concerns related to attendance, missing assignments, low test or quiz scores, declining course performance, or limited engagement. A webinar demonstration will also be offered.

One Week Before Classes

Early Alert Process Introduction
Faculty and instructional staff will receive an overview of the new Early Alert process, including how to submit an alert in Jag360, what types of concerns should be reported, and what happens after an alert is submitted.

Week 10

“Finish Strong” Reminder and Webinar Demonstration
Faculty will be encouraged to continue submitting Early Alerts for students who may benefit from additional support before the end of the semester. The communication will emphasize that it is not too late to connect students with CLASS services and will include another webinar demonstration.

Week 4

First Early Alert Reminder and Webinar Demonstration
Faculty will receive a reminder to identify students who may be experiencing early academic challenges. A webinar demonstration will provide step-by-step instructions for submitting an Early Alert in Jag360.

Week 16

Closing the Loop After Final Grades
After final grades are posted, CLASS will provide an end-of-semester update summarizing Early Alert outreach, student engagement, referrals to academic support services, and opportunities to strengthen the process for the next semester.

Early Alert support may include:

  • Individual success coordinator appointments
  • Academic success planning
  • Tutoring referrals
  • Academic peer coaching
  • Success workshops
  • Connections to campus resources
  • Ongoing follow-up and encouragement

Our goal is to intervene early, connect students with the right resources, and help them remain on the path toward academic success.
