CLASS Success Coordinators provide personalized academic support and serve as the primary point of contact for students, faculty, and campus partners within their assigned Career Academic Professional Engagement (CAPE). The CAPE model allows coordinators to develop specialized knowledge of the colleges, academic programs, and student populations they support, resulting in stronger partnerships, proactive outreach, and individualized guidance throughout the student experience.

Students are assigned a Success Coordinator based on their college or academic program. Coordinators collaborate with faculty, academic advisors, and campus partners to connect students with tutoring, academic coaching, Supplemental Instruction, Early Alert Intervention, workshops, and other CLASS services that promote learning and academic achievement.

Programs & Student Initiatives

In addition to supporting their assigned academic colleges, each CLASS and VCLASS Success Coordinator provides leadership for specialized student success initiatives designed to meet the unique needs of specific student populations. These initiatives include targeted outreach, programming, workshops, coaching, and campus collaboration. Participation in these programs does not change a student's assigned Success Coordinator.

Assistant Director of VCLASS (Professional Staff Position)

Provide leadership for Augusta University's virtual academic support initiatives, oversee online student success programming, supervise professional and student staff, and collaborate with campus partners to expand access to academic support services.

Graduate Assistants (for Spring 2027)

Graduate Assistants support daily operations while gaining practical experience in higher education administration, student success, programming, assessment, and virtual academic support.

Content Tutors

Provide course-specific academic support through individual and small-group tutoring sessions while helping students strengthen subject knowledge and develop effective learning strategies.

Academic Peer Coaches

Help students develop the skills necessary for long-term academic success by providing guidance in:

• Time management
• Study strategies
• Organization
• Goal setting
• Motivation
• Learning strategies

Supplemental Instruction Leaders (when available)

Partner with faculty to facilitate collaborative learning sessions for historically challenging courses through active learning and peer-led review.

Front Desk Peer Educators

Serve as the welcoming face of CLASS by greeting students, scheduling appointments, assisting visitors, and supporting daily office operations.

Freshie Ambassadors

Assist with new student programs, campus outreach, orientation events, and student engagement initiatives while representing CLASS throughout the university community.
