Post-graduate clinical observerships in anesthesia provide opportunities to observe
clinical anesthesia practices. Our program is open to post-graduate students, private
practice clinicians, and individuals from other hospitals. We accept individuals from
the United States as well as international medical graduates. Clinical observers will
not participate directly in any patient care.
If you are an undergraduate or current medical student interested in an observership,
send an inquiry to mcganes@augusta.edu.
Post-graduate observerships are for a period of 30 days.
No more than one clinical observer will be sponsored in the department at any given
time.
Requests for observerships will be accepted or rejected within one month of application
receipt.
An administrative fee of $500 per month will be charged to each individual accepted
as a clinical observer.
Observers will not actively participate in any direct clinical care or preparation.
Observers will be strictly observing/shadowing our professional staff with whom they
are assigned. Any violation is grounds for dismissal from the program.
Limited research work may be permitted as time allows.
We will not sponsor visas for this program. It is the responsibility of the applicant
to obtain legal entry into the US.
Participation in the observership program has no direct bearing on future internship,
residency, or fellowship applications
