Safety Data Sheets

The Chemical Safety Office keeps an extensive Safety Data Sheet (SDS) inventory. Under federal and state law, Safety Data Sheets must be made available for all chemicals used or stored at Augusta University. The Chemical Safety Office maintains a hard copy file for all chemicals on campus and will assist in the acquisition of those we do not have. The Hazard Communication Standard (HCS), known as the Right-to-Know Law, is enforced by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). The standard requires chemical manufacturers to provide SDS for all of their chemicals and information detailing hazards associated with specific chemicals and chemical mixtures.
