Rheumatology Fellowship Program

Mission

The Rheumatology Fellowship offered at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University is a two-year fellowship that emphasizes a scholarly clinical experience with the opportunity to pursue basic science or clinical research.

We are committed to recruiting and retaining a diverse and inclusive community of individuals, at both the trainee and faculty level, who are dedicated to promoting excellence in medicine through education, clinical care and research.

We understand and appreciate that our unique perspectives, talents and experiences all contribute to improving the quality of care we give to our patients.

The fellowship is fully accredited through the ACGMEAccreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. Upon successful completion of the program, individuals will be eligible for board certification through the ABIMAmerican Board of Internal Medicine.

The program is currently accepting submissions to ERAS®Electronic Residency Application Service for the 2026-2027 academic year. View application timeline.

 

At this time the program does not accept H1 Visas.

 

HOW TO APPLY       APPLY WITH ERAS®

Curriculum

Fellows are exposed to a range of the most common to the most complex rheumatologic diseases in both the outpatient and inpatient settings. This includes inflammatory arthritis, metabolic bone diseases, osteoarthritis, systemic lupus, Sjögren’s disease, vasculitis, and myositis.

Dedicated instruction in use of DXAs are provided. Clinics and inpatient consults are completed at Augusta University.
