We view advisors and faculty as critical to our mutual goal of student success.

We strive to support students and help lead them to success even past graduation. When it comes to class presentations, student recruitment, references and all student services we provide is extended to our faculty. Lets work together to ensure that every Jag will graduate with the skills, experience, professional connections, and academic knowledge to pursue careers that lead to personal fulfillment, financial wellness, positive contributions to workplaces and communities, and continued engagement with the AU family.

The goal of this page is to equip advisors and faculty with tools for effective career-related engagement with students.

How we can help your students

We are a student's best resource for career exploration, job outlook, salary, and employment trend information. Students use our services to clarify their career plans, to develop essential job-search skills and to seek resources for employment.

We help your students find the right career

We help students determine the right career for their interests, career goals, skills, values, and personality. We help them explore their options and encourage goal setting to correspond with career and academic planning.

We help students connect to employers

We work directly with employers who would like to develop mutually beneficial relationships with faculty. We can facilitate connections with professionals who can provide career development support to students in a particular major or discipline. We can help develop employer internship relationships for your intern program, we can bring employers to your classrooms, and we can provide career spotlights to showcase career options in our majors at Augusta University.

We help students master the job interview

There is no better way to prepare for the job interview than by experiencing an "actual" interview. Our staff can conduct mock interviews with your students, then provide a constructive critique of their performance and provide them with effective interview strategies. We also provide online mock interview services using Big Interview on-line virtual interview tutorial to help students sharpen their skills.

We connect students to Campus employers

Campus Employers are often the first employers students have. We assist campus department employers with posting their on-campus student assistant and Federal Work Study opportunities on Handshake, our job and event listing site. Please contact the Career Services office at 706-737-1604 if you need assistance posting your on-campus position.

We host Career fairs that attract many recruiters to one event

Our career fairs provide excellent opportunities for your students to meet representatives from the companies in their industries of choice and establish a network of contacts. We will help your students research the employers beforehand and provide tips on how to effectively engage recruiters.

We can bring the information to your class

We specialize in developing and facilitating career development programming on topics such as resume writing, job-search strategies, and interviewing skills. In addition, we can arrange presentations by professionals (many of them alumni), who can relate their experiences and how their major has helped them in their careers.
