Why Perform Spatial Profiling?
Spatially resolved profiling of tissues was described in Nature Methods’ in 2021. Spatial profiling allows for in-depth phenotypic analysis by mapping both protein and RNA profiles
to their exact locations within tissue samples. This approach is particularly valuable
when studying processes that are unevenly distributed across the tissue, such as patchy
disease involvement. Recent technological advancements have significantly improved
resolution, enabling profiling down to the single-cell level.
Platforms
Our currently has two different platforms that enable spatially resolved profiling.
These are the Visium – 10X Genomics and the CosMx Spatial Molecular Imager (CosMx SMI) – Nanostring. More information below.
