SUSAN DAVIES, PhD
Vice President for Enrollment and Student Affairs
Susan Davies, Ph.D., serves as Vice President for Enrollment and Student Affairs at
Augusta University. Her love and advocacy for student success began in college as
an orientation leader, which led to pursuing avenues to serve professionally in higher
education. Now, as VP, she brings more than 25 years of experience, providing overall
leadership and management of the Division’s 14 departments. Her vision and decision-making
are rooted in the belief that students are our #1 priority.
A leader and ally among students and her peers, Dr. Davies was the project leader
- both in the creation and launch - of Augusta University’s 2022-2027 Strategic Enrollment
Management Plan. The SEM Plan connects recruitment with student success and retention,
focusing on goals and strategies that position AU for future enrollment growth.
Prior to Augusta University, she was Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs
and Enrollment Services at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC),
Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management at Appalachian State University,
and Director of Admissions at Georgia Southern University. She earned a bachelor’s
degree in English from Georgia Southern University, a master’s degree in college student
development from Bowling Green State University, and a doctorate in educational studies
from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
In addition, she is a member of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators,
the Southern Association for College Student Affairs, and the American Association
of Collegiate Registrar and Admissions Officers. She served as a faculty member for
the SACSA and NASPA Region III’s Mid-Managers Institute in 2019 and 2022, and co-chairs
the NASPA Enrollment Management Knowledge Community. She is the 2022-2023 chair of
the Regents Administrative Committee on Enrollment Management.
Dr. Susan Davies has been married to Dr. Nigel Davies for 20 years, and they have
two dogs. They enjoy traveling and all things outdoors – growing their small farm,
camping, hiking, kayaking, and boating.
