Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship Program

The Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University was approved by the ACGME on February 9, 2017, and is currently the only approved Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship in the state of Georgia. 

This is a three-year fellowship with one fellow position per year. The objective of the fellowship program is to produce well-rounded gynecologic oncologists to provide excellent clinical care for women with regards to the prevention, detection, and treatment of gynecologic malignancies.

Application Process

Applications for the Medical College of Georgia Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship Program must be submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). The deadline to submit applications is Monday, April 7, 2025, for consideration for a fellowship position beginning August 1, 2026. Our program follows the common date recommendations set forth by the Society of Gynecologic Oncology.

NOTE: Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents (green card) and must have completed an ACGME-accredited residency in obstetrics and gynecology by the fellowship start date. Due to the nature of fellowship funding, applications from H1B and J1 Visa holders cannot be accepted.

 

Your completed application must include the following components submitted via ERAS: 

Common Application Form (CAF) in MyERAS:

Personal statement

Official medical school transcript

MSPE/Dean’s letter from medical school

USMLE transcript

Recent photo

3 Letters of Recommendation in accordance with SGO guidelines.  Standard letter of evaluation (SLOE) format can be located on the SGO website.

  • Residency Program Director SLOE using PD SLOE format
    • Written by Residency Program Director
  • Gynecologic Oncology SLOE using Gyn Onc SLOE format 
    • Written by a Gynecologic Oncologist or Gynecologic Oncology group
  • Additional support letter (Select ONE of the following options): 
    • Current supervisor (if practicing after residency) using PD SLOE format OR traditional LOR format
    • Letter from a visiting rotation (e.g. Brunschwig or Rutledge experience)
    • Second Gyn Onc LOR using Gyn Onc SLOE format OR traditional LOR format

Our new Fellowship position begins August 1, 2026. Applicants will be notified starting May 5, 2025, if selected to interview.

All interviews will be conducted Virtually, via Zoom, on June 18th AM Only, July 16th and August 13th AM Only for 2025
