The Division of Gynecological Oncology at the Medical College of Georgia is driven by one and only one objective, which is to give the best state of the art care to patients with gynecological cancer in a compassionate way.
We believe in looking at the patient, in totality, in context of the cancer treatments and hence other aspects, such as the person's nutritional and psychological well being, are also very important. Gynecologic Oncology provides counseling, medical and surgical services to patients requiring special treatment of benign and malignant diseases and tumors of the female reproductive tract.
We believe that our patients should have access to the best possible treatment choices in the country, including the latest novel therapeutic options. The section of Gynecologic Oncology is one of the most active sites in the southeast part of the United States in terms of offering a variety of national and international clinical trials to the patients. These include trials through the Gynecologic Oncology group, which is affiliated with the National Cancer Institute and also trials with various pharmaceutical companies. We also do "First in Humans" phase 1 trials with the clinical trials unit.
It is truly a privilege for our staff to take care of women with gynecological cancers, and we strive to individualize this therapy in a family-centered fashion.
