Certificate of Less than One Year in Cyber Crime 

Stylized circuit board and world illustrationThe Certificate of Less than One Year in Cyber Crime  is intended to give students a foundation in one of the most rapidly growing fields of criminal justice today. The certificate's five required courses will teach students everything from the basics of criminal justice and ethics to strategic cybersecurity and law enforcement in the digital age. Additionally, students will choose one elective based on their preference for further study in criminology, counterterrorism, computer networking, or digital forensics, among others. Students can also complete an internship to satisfy the 3-hour elective requirement.

This certificate is offered by the Department of Social Sciences in conjunction with the School of Computer & Cyber Sciences, and it is open to students of all majors. This certificate must be taken in tandem with a formal degree program at Augusta University.

Certificate of Less than One Year in European Union Studies


Flags with European Union emblem flying outside of a buildingThis is a six-course certificate program that is a collaborative effort among this university, the University System of Georgia, and the University of Munich, Germany. This program is open to all academic majors. For more information, please contact Dr. Will Hatcher.

This certificate must be taken in tandem with a formal degree program. Students from all academic majors are eligible to participate so long as they possess a minimum 2.75 cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA). A student may formally apply to enroll in the program after successful completion of the prerequisites.

Certificate of Less than One Year in Cultural Diversity in Healthcare

Working with People DataThis is a four-course (12 hour) certificate program for students who aspire to careers in medicine, dentistry, nursing, allied health and as well as public administration or business, can complete this specialized training certificate in the first two years of their degree program, prior to applying for internships, shadowing opportunities or focused programs, as well as before sitting entrance exams. Our students and certificate graduates can feel confident in their cultural diversity knowledge and skills and will be better prepared to effectively and empathetically interact with others in the healthcare arena.

Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership

It is designed to allow students to develop the necessary knowledge to manage and lead sustainable nonprofit organizations. The certificate is directed at individuals in the nonprofit field who already have a bachelor degree and are seeking to further their knowledge and abilities.

The certificate is a partnership between Augusta University’s Master of Public Administration and Master of Business Administration programs. Currently, the certificate is reserved for students earning a degree in either one of these programs.

Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Urban Planning and Community Development 

Public planning and community development are  growing fields in the public sector. The Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Urban Planning and Community Development prepares students for careers in public planning and development with state, regional, and local governments. The certificate is directed at individuals working in public administration who already have a bachelor’s degree and are seeking to further their knowledge and abilities. By completing the certificate, students learn the following: theories and practice of urban planning; land-use planning; zoning; economic development planning; geographic information systems; and grant writing.
