Application Process

Eligibility criteria:

For a Psychiatry Fellowship

  • Has completed general adult psychiatry residency or equivalent
  • Applicant should be eligible to obtain Georgia Medical License or a training license
  • For international medical graduates who have completed psychiatry residency training outside of the United States, should have completed USMLE exams and are ECFMG certified.
  • Applicants must either be a US citizen, permanent resident or hold a appropriate visa allowing participation in the fellowship. The department will support ECFMG sponsored J1 visa only.

For a Psychology Fellowship

  • Individuals must have successfully completed all aspects of an American Psychological Association approved graduate program and internship to earn a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical or counseling psychology, must complete dissertation defense prior to the onset of the fellowship year, and have at least one year experience in clinical assessment and treatment of adults with serious and persistent mental illnesses.

The fellow is appointed a full-time position for one year. A total of 2000 hours of training are provided each year.

  • Three letters of recommendation (at least one from your current supervisor). These letters can be emailed directly to Dr. Shashank from your letter writers.
