Call Responsibilities
Call is shared among CAP Fellows and Portals, averaging less than once per week. There are no in-house call responsibilities. In collaboration with faculty, fellows serve as back-up to general psychiatry residents, offering advice on case management of patients presenting to the CHOG ED.
Educational Time
CAP Fellows have Wednesdays blocked for educational activities, including didactics, psychotherapy seminars, and two hours a week of research time. Additional protected time for research and scholarly activities may be requested when the base time is not enough for a project’s needs.
Portals have the same educational experience as CAP fellows in the second and third year of training. In the first and second year of training portals join the general psychiatry program for their day of protected didactic time on Thursday.
Wellness Time
One half-day a month is reserved for wellness activities for CAP fellows and second and third-year portals.
