Laryngology - Voice, Airway & Swallowing Center

Laryngology

In 2005 Augusta University (then the Medical College of Georgia) recruited Dr. Gregory Postma MD to establish the Center for Voice and Swallowing Disorders, a comprehensive medical destination for patients with laryngologic disorders especially dysphonia (hoarseness) and dysphagia (trouble swallowing). The center is regarded as one of the finest “full service” Laryngology Centers in the Nation and it was rebranded as the Voice, Airway and Swallowing Center.

The multi-disciplinary center utilizes the expertise of speech-language pathologists, gastroenterologists, neurologists, pulmonologists, and gastrointestinal surgeons to provide state-of-the-art care for our patients. The use of cutting-edge technology such as transnasal esophagoscopy, high-resolution manometry, and in-office laser surgery has resulted in an ever-increasing patient volume with outstanding clinical outcomes.

It is the Center’s mission to provide the finest care for patients with laryngologic disorders in North America, and to train residents and fellows to become experts in the full spectrum of Laryngology.
