What is a Longitudinal Integrated Curriculum?
Students will choose to be residents of the community and have increased continuity over the transitional clerkship students that rotate in 6-8 weeks blocks and then take a Shelf test. The LICLongitudinal Integrated Curriculum students will take the same Shelf tests together based on a published calendar. These students will follow their patients throughout the healthcare continuum (Inpatient, Outpatient, Specialist, Rehab, Nursing Home, Home Visits) and will complete their core rotations with the same preceptor for a year in one-week sessions. All of their requirements will be the same as the traditional (transitional) students including procedures, call and core rotations.
