Follow the path to an Information Technology career

Augusta Technical College (ATC) students who have completed course in the Associates in Applied Science (AAS) in Information Technology program can earn equivalent credit towards coursework for the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program at Augusta University.

Augusta Technical College students who are interested in continuing their education at Augusta University have the opportunity to take six challenge exams to earn credit towards courses in the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program. Students should declare their intent to participate in this program as early as possible in their program of study at Augusta Technical College.

Here's how to apply for the Cybersecurity and Information Technology Pathway to Augusta University:

  1. Interested students must complete the ATC Transient Application. Application fees will be waived until the student chooses to transfer as a degree-seeking student.
  2. Following completion of the application, the student will work with Augusta University's Office of Academic Admissions to determine the appropriate course(s) they'd like to take the challenge exam for in order to earn credit. Students will be eligible to challenge credit once a transcript is on file, showing completion of the corresponding ATC course with a grade of 'C' or better.
  3. Contact Augusta University's Testing and Disability Services to schedule challenge exam(s). Students may schedule up to two challenge exams daily. Challenge exams will have a two-hour time limit.

Each challenge exam costs $75. Students must pass the challenge exams with a score of 70 or higher.

To continue as a non-transient student at Augusta University, the following admissions requirements must be met:

  • Must have completed at least 30 credit hours
  • Transcripts from Augusta Technical College and other schools attended must be submitted to Augusta University's admissions office.
  • Student must have a cumulative 2.3 GPA
  • Submit official application fee ($55)
