Prospective Students

The Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at Augusta University is designed to prepare learners to sit for the national licensing examination.*

Classes at AU are scheduled in a traditional weekday format. Each August, 43 learners are admitted to the program and graduate after 33 months (8 semesters) of continuous full-time study.  

*Note: state law regulates the practice of physical therapy. To obtain information on a particular state's practice requirements and eligibility for licensure , contact the state's physical therapy licensing board.

Prerequisite Checklist

Prospective learners must have earned a grade of C or higher in all the following prerequisite courses. Please note that candidates may apply before completing all the prerequisite courses but must have a reasonable chance of completing all the requirements by the time of enrollment in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program.

Two courses are required. General Psychology is required and the second course upper division with preferred being Developmental Psychology. Both courses must have a Psychology prefix.
