Denise Kornegay and Alyssa Ruffa are leading a study abroad trip to Scotland to study rural health care next year for medical students who plan to become health care professionals in the state of Georgia.

Neil J. MacKinnon, PhD, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at Augusta University, and Zach Kelehear, EdD, vice provost for instruction, announced this week that four collaborative research projects stemming from the Converge International Rural Health Symposium will each be awarded $10,000 grants this year.

Augusta University will soon welcome Teresa M. Waters, PhD, as the inaugural dean of the new School of Public Health. Waters will begin in her new role on Aug. 1.
