This guide aims to assist you in navigating our application process, setting you on a trajectory toward success as a proud member of Jag Nation.

 

Curriculum Reminder

Any students applying to Augusta University as an incoming freshman should meet the State of Georgia’s required high school curriculum to ensure admissibility. This curriculum includes 4 English, 4 science, 4 math, 3 social sciences, and 2 credits of the same foreign language. Details can be found here.

Tuition Waiver

Augusta University offers South Carolina students an affordable option close to home and is the most affordable research university in Georgia. Recently, U.S. News & World Report recognized Augusta University as a top performer in promoting social mobility.

All qualified South Carolina residents are eligible to receive a waiver allowing students to pay our affordable in-state tuition cost. The approximate savings is nearly $17,000 per year or a total of more than $68,000 over four years. Degree-seeking graduate students who are residents of Aiken or Edgefield counties are eligible for this waiver as well.

South Carolina residents enrolled as degree-seeking undergraduate students in any of our programs may be eligible for this waiver.

Eligibility for students under the age of 24 is generally determined by their parent or legal guardian’s residence. Students must verify they are legally present in the United States.

To Apply

1. Apply for Admission

Submit your application to Augusta University as a degree-seeking student. You can locate find the application at augusta.edu/admissions/apply. For details about admissions requirements, you can visit our Freshman page, our Transfer page, or the website for your specific program.

 

Note: Non-degree seeking students (auditors, post-bacc, transient, etc., are not eligible for this waiver.

2. Receive the Waiver Application

After you apply and are admitted, potentially eligible students will receive the South Carolina Waiver application in their Admissions Portal.

3. Complete and Submit the Waiver

Once you receive the waiver eligibility notification, complete the South Carolina Waiver form and email it, along with the required supporting documents, to admissions@augusta.edu for review.

Note: You will still be listed as an out-of-state student with an out-of-state cost of attendance. This waiver does not change your classification, however the out-of-state fee will be credited back to your student account.
