Communication Events
Our department hosts and is involved with various campus and community events. Students benefit through both attendance and participation in these opportunities.
A few recurring events include:
- First Amendment Series – Annual invitation lecture series with leading communicators, communication lawyers and social activists
- Arts in the Heart – Join us at a well-known annual Augusta arts festival in the downtown
- CommuniCon – Annual major event planned, programmed, and run by communication majors, with community
sponsors, live music, games and activities. Often there is a Day event open to all
undergraduate students, and a Night event for communication majors with an awards
ceremony.

Communication majors have many opportunities to help others. In some classes they may have the chance to partner with nonprofits to provide artistic or volunteer support. Other classes may provide the chance to directly impact the community with service projects. Whether you're spreading the message or cleaning up the environment, come volunteer and be a force for good.
