                     The Section of Trauma/Surgical Critical Care is conducting several research projects,
                           including:

                      Accelerated biologic aging, and risk for sepsis and organ failure following trauma;

                      Inflammation and sub-clinical renal damage in cocaine-dependent African- Americans;

                      The effect of hsp90 inhibitors on LPS-induced inflammation following trauma;

                      An examination of provider perceptions of the ability of telemedicine to improve trauma
                        patient outcomes, continuity of care and cost-effectiveness when used as a referral
                        tool for trauma transfers;

                      The effect of Vitamin D supplementation on bone healing following traumatic injury;

                      The use of Ofirmev with and without Opioids in the treatment of pain in traumatic
                        brain-injured patients at a Level I trauma center;
