PGY 1

24 weeks: Inpatient Psychiatry (ECRH) &( VA)
8 weeks: Consultation/Liaison Psychiatry (WellStar MCG)
4 weeks: Emergency Psychiatry (WellStar MCG)
4 weeks: Internal Medicine (VA)
4 weeks: Emergency Medicine (VA)
4 weeks: Medicine Elective 1: Choose from Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Endocrinology, or Rheumatology (WellStar MCG)
4 weeks: Medicine Elective 2: Choose from Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Endocrinology, or Rheumatology (WellStar MCG)

PGY 2

8 weeks: Night Float (WellStar MCG)
12 weeks: Emergency Psychiatry (WellStar MCG)
4 weeks: Geriatric Psychiatry (WellStar MCG)
8 weeks: Neurology (WellStar MCG): 8 weeks Inpatient Adult or Outpatient at (VA)
8 weeks: Consultation/Liaison Psychiatry (WellStar MCG)
8 weeks: Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (WellStar MCG) & Intake Clinic (WellStar MCG)
4 weeks: Addiction Psychiatry and Pain Medicine (WellStar MCG and VA)

PGY 3

52 weeks: Outpatient Experience

-WellStar MCG- Health Behavior (Continuity) Clinic, Schizophrenia & Mood Disorders Clinic, Child & Adolescent Clinic, Neurostimulation (ECT/TMS), DBT groups, Treatment-Resistant Depression Clinic, Student Health (transitional age youth), Esketamine Clinic
-American Work- Community Mental Health Clinic
-Veterans Administration- Mental Health & Pain Medicine Clinics
-Hope House- Addiction Medicine
-Stepping Stones to Recovery- Addiction Medicine/ IOP groups

Stillwaters Professional Services

PGY 4

52 weeks : AUMC- Health Behavior (Continuity)  Clinic, half day at the Harrisburg Family Care (HUB)
12 weeks: Administrative Rotation (ECRH- Inpatient Psychiatry, AUMC- BHU, C/L)
40 weeks: Electives (e.g. Inpatient Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry, Community Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry/Psychology, Neurostimulation, Research), ASMP, Eating disorders, ACT/DBT

CALL RESPONSIBILITIES

 

During weekends & holidays, residents must cover the Behavioral Health Unit (Emergency Psychiatry) and Consultation/Liaison Service.

  • Behavioral Health Unit shifts: 7AM-3PM, 3PM-11PM, 11PM-7AM
  • Consultation/Liaison Service: 7AM-4:30PM

On Thursdays (Full-Day Protected Time for Didactics)

  • Behavioral Health residents do not attend didactics
  • Consultation/Liaison Service: 7AM-4:30PM

The total number of call shifts varies per year. On average:

  • PGY-1: 18
  • PGY-2: 20
  • PGY-3: 12
  • PGY-4: 8

The call schedule is completely flexible! We use an online system in which you may trade call days with your colleagues.
