Sankar Sikder is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Augusta University. He earned his Ph.D. and M.S. in Mathematics from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, specializing in mathematical biology, ecological modeling, and stochastic processes. Before joining Augusta University, he was a graduate teaching assistant at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where he taught undergraduate mathematics courses and conducted research on discrete prey-predator dynamics and the spatial modeling of invasive species. His early-career research includes collaborative work on tick-borne disease ecology, as well as projects involving stochastic dispersal and mathematical approaches to invasive species control. He has co-authored peer-reviewed journal articles, presented at national conferences, including the Joint Mathematics Meetings, and remains actively engaged in interdisciplinary research connecting mathematics, ecology, and public health.
Calculus, Precalculus, College Algebra, Statistics, Differential Equations, Mathematical Modeling, and Applied Mathematics, with a strong emphasis on real-world applications, clear conceptual understanding, and student-centered, technology-enhanced instruction.
Mathematical biology, ecological modeling, stochastic processes, and spatial population dynamics, with applications to invasive species management, tick-borne disease systems, and public-health–related ecological processes. Additional interests include data-driven modeling, stochastic simulation, and applied mathematical analysis for real-world biological and environmental systems.
