Bio
Sourav Kumar Mukhopadhyay is an Assistant Professor in the School of Computer & Cyber Sciences, Augusta University. Before joining Augusta University, he has worked as a Research Associate and Postdoctoral Fellow at Toronto Metropolitan University and Concordia University in Canada. He received the Regroupement strategique en microsystemes du Quebec (ReSMiQ) Postdoctoral scholarship in February 2017. He earned his B.Sc. (Hons.) degree in Electronics in 2005, the M.Sc. degree in Electronic Science in 2007, and Ph.D. degree in Applied Physics in 2015 all from University of Calcutta, Kolkata, India. He was a part-time Lecturer in the Department of Electronics, Acharya Prafulla Chandra College, Kolkata from 2008 to 2015.
His area of research includes biomedical signal processing, application of machine learning, artificial intelligence and deep learning techniques in monitoring vital signs as well as early diagnosis of physiological anomalies. His long-term professional goal is to continue to extend the boundaries of biomedical signal processing, in association with industries and clinicians, towards creating innovative and applicable solutions for the healthcare industry.
