Department of Medicine: Cardiology
On January 1, 2011, the Department of Medicine welcomed Dr. Preston D. Conger, Jr., M.D., F.A.C.C as Assistant Professor of Medicine in Cardiology. Dr. Conger earned his undergraduate degree in Chemistry at Emory University, and an M.D. at Emory University School of Medicine. He then completed both his Internal Medicine Residency and Cardiology Fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia.
Thereafter, Dr. Conger entered private practice in Aiken, SC, specializing in Non-Invasive Cardiology. Since 2008, Dr. Conger has served as Chairman, Section of Cardiology, at the Aiken Regional Medical Centers, and Chairman of the Board of Preferred Care in Aiken. Dr. Preston is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology. Clinical interests encompass Echocardiography (including S/E and TEE), heart failure management, valvular heart disease, hypertension, and preventive cardiology.
