Bio

A graduate of MCG College of Nursing in 1986, Dr. Franklin earned a Masters degree from Georgia Southwestern in 2017 and competed her Doctorate in Nursing from USAHS in 2022. It has been an honor and a privilege to practice among the tribal families of North America and to now be able to share those experiences with Augusta University College of Nursing students in the DNP_FNP concentration.

Teaching Interests

Dr. Franklin has experience in practicing with underserved patient populations, with a keen interest in working with Indigenous people of the United States. A desire for better healthcare in rural populations is evident by her service to the Indigenous populations of America since 2020 as well as promoting better awareness for early Sepsis recognition and treatment.
