I joined Augusta University in 2019 as an Adjunct Professor and transitioned to full-time teaching in Psychology in 2021. I am a neuroscientist who loves teaching students to think critically about their surroundings, their acquired skills, and how these skills can be extrapolated to real-world scenarios.
As a neuroscientist, conducting basic research and managing a laboratory for 25+ years, I utilize many different skills from my psychology background. These “life skills” assist us in creating, analyzing, contributing, editing, and managing successful careers. Although my career path to teaching was unconventional, I have always had a passion for teaching and mentoring students throughout their collegiate careers. As your professor and mentor, one of my greatest accomplishments is when you realize that your excellent work ethic, preparation, great communication skills, critical thinking, and efforts will help you become a guiding force within your field, so you practice with passion.
