Giada Biasetti is Associate Professor of Spanish in the Department of English and World Languages. In 2018, she won the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese Professor of the Year Award (Georgia Chapter).

Teaching Interests
Her teaching interests include Spanish language, literature, and culture as well as translation and interpretation. She also has experience teaching Italian language and culture. In her translation classes, Dr. Biasetti has developed assignments, such as bilingual publications and voiceover translations / dubbing for videos, that give her students real-world experience.

Research Interests
Her diverse academic background has led to two main areas of research interests: 20th century Latin American literature and translation and interpretation. Some of her published work includes "El poder subversivo de La casa de la laguna y La niña blanca y los pájaros sin pies: La centralización de la periferia," and "Benefits of an Interpretation Course for Foreign Language Learning and Development." She is currently working on developing a framework for online courses to boost student engagement and build community.
