Augusta University's College of Education and Human Development proudly presents Kids University, a dynamic and enriching experience designed to ignite your child's imagination and
foster a love of learning.
Kids University is an affordable, high-quality summer camp designed to nurture children's
humanity through a variety of enrichment classes that are often not available in traditional
school settings. Hosted by the College of Education and Human Development at Augusta
University, the camp aims to serve about one hundred K-8 children in our local community
each summer. Registration begins in March and will close once we reach maximum capacity.
For children in kindergarten through eighth grade, our camp offers flexible full-day
and half-day options, allowing you to choose the schedule that best suits your family's
needs.
All sessions are full.Registration for Kids University 2026 will open on Monday, March 16, at 9 AM, and will close once we reach maximum capacity.
We offer a variety of classes for children, all taught by highly qualified instructors.
They will rotate to a different class each hour. Activities vary each day and week.
Instructors will tailor activities and support based on students' age, grade level,
and abilities. The average cost per hour is between $5.88 and $6.25, which includes
all materials. Each class is led by one instructor and one teaching assistant. Camp
supervision ratio:1:6 (4-5 years old), 1:8 (6-8 years old), 1:10 (9-14 years old).
Registration is risk-free. If a child's schedule changes, parents can request a full
refund by May 1, 2025. If cancellation is requested in May, a 10% fee will be applied.
If cancellation is requested in June, a 25% fee will be applied.
Sports Activities & Games
This course engages kids in fun physical activities and mindfulness practices, promoting
physical and mental health. The course fosters students to be inquirers, thinkers,communicators,
and balanced individuals, developing healthy habits for overall well-being.
Reading All Around
This course will engage all ages through the wonderful world of reading through engaging,
fun learning activities that will provide and enhance support for reading instruction
for early learners.
Mind & Body: A Journey to Health
In this course, students will explore the connection between physical activity and
mental well-being. Through fun exercises, mindfulness practices, and healthy habits,
participants will learn how to take care of both their bodies and minds, building
a foundation for a balanced and active lifestyle.
Get Bugs SMART! (science, math, art, and reading time!)
Each week, camp scholars will learn about some of the world’s most incredible insects
all while strengthening interdisciplinary academics at their level. The academic goal
is to grow science vocabulary, infuse math and writing practice, and engage students
through crafts, music, and movement. Scholars will learn about insect habitats, unique
adaptations, environmental benefits, and amazing facts that will have them buzzing
about bugs this summer!
Traveling the World
During a 4-week summer camp at Kids University, students will explore a new country
each week. We will travel to various countries and continents, learning about their
cultures, languages, histories, and popular foods. I will tailor my lessons to meet
the needs of different students and age groups. Although I have not yet decided which
countries we will explore, excitement and adventure await!
STEAM Project
In this course, students will identify the most pressing problems in their local,
state, or global communities. They will then collaboratively solve those problems
through science, math, art, technology, and engineering concepts. Through purpose-driven
inquiry and resilience, children will understand the agency they have as individuals
to impact their communities.
Yoga for Kids
The course covers yoga fundamentals with a strong focus on promoting children’s well-being
and lifelong health. Practicing yoga is beneficial to children both physically and
mentally. It helps children soothe tension and anxiety, reduces stress, and improves
their strength, balance, and flexibility.
Writing Innovation
This course is designed to help students connect their reading and writing skills.
Students will also gain critical thinking skills in a fun and engaging environment.
Activities include creating story trains, tapping into riddles, limericks, reading
comprehension Jenga, short story readings, poetry in motion, character maps, and other
reading and writing activities and games.
Rhythm & Movement
This course will introduce and/or expand upon students’ knowledge and understanding
of how to read and comprehend the language of music through studies in rhythmic patterns
utilizing various rhythmic instruments, body percussion, dance movements, interactive
games, and other engaging activities.
Drama and Acting
Imagine, Create, and Express! This course invites students to discover the world of
drama through expressive movement, storytelling, and imagination. Participants will
explore emotions, create original stories, and use crafts, music, and dance to bring
characters to life. Through fun activities, kids will build confidence and unleash
their creativity!
Art Adventure
Children will have a blast as they explore their creative side and develop new skills,
knowledge, and ideas using a variety of materials and techniques to create one-of-a-kind
masterpieces! Projects integrate cultural, contemporary, and art history as well as
literature and are designed to teach campers fundamental skills in art while encouraging
each student to express their creative spirit.
The summer camp runs from June 2 to June 27, 2025. Parents can choose from full-day
and half-day options, as well as enroll for all four weeks or individual weeks.
Children’s safety is our top priority at Kids University. Therefore, all instructors, teacher assistants, staff, and administrators are mandated to complete minor on-campus training before working with children.
After completing the modules, please upload your certificate of completion to our

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Kids University provide food to my children during the summer camp?
Due to children’s varying allergies, Kids University does not provide food. Parents
or guardians are responsible for preparing food for their children, including snacks,
beverages, and lunch.
My children have special needs. Are they eligible for Kids University?
Yes. Kids University is an inclusive and welcoming learning environment for all children.
Our instructor team involves certified teachers in general and special education across
grade levels.
Is there a discount for the children of Augusta University employees?
No. We do not have a discount for the children of Augusta University employees because
we have tried to keep the cost to the lowest for all parents.
Is there a sibling discount available?
We do not offer a sibling discount, but we will strive to keep the cost as low as
possible for all parents.
