2025 Summer Camp
Calling All Aspiring Animators and Digital Artists!
Have you ever dreamed of bringing your own characters to life? Whether you’re passionate about designing characters, crafting 3D models, or creating jaw-dropping animations, this summer is your chance to dive into the world of animation at Augusta University’s Animation High School Summer Camp!
This year, we’re offering THREE exciting sessions, each focused on a different aspect of animation. Whether you're a beginner or looking to expand your skills, we’ve got a session for you! Join us for an unforgettable week of learning, creativity, and fun!
You can choose one camp or participate in all 3 for a discount! Campers need to both register and pay in order to participate in the camp.
Ages 14-17 at the time of the camp.

Session 1: Character Design
For Students Who Love Drawing and Storytelling
In this hands-on session, you'll explore the world of 2D character design. From sketching
your character concepts to creating detailed, dynamic designs, you’ll learn the art
of bringing your characters to life on paper (or tablet!). We’ll experiment with different
art styles, try out drawing on a Cintiq, and you’ll get a 13 x 19 print of your character!
Monday, June 9 – Friday, June 13
1-5 p.m. daily
Session 2: 3D Modeling
For Students Interested in Videogames and 3D Characters
Have you ever wanted to build your own character in 3D? This session will introduce
you to the basics of 3D modeling. You'll create your own characters using industry-standard
software. We’ll sculpt and paint a character on Cintiqs, light and render our character,
and you’ll get a 13 x 19 print of your character!
Monday, June 23 – Friday, June 27
1-5 p.m. daily
Session 3: Motion Capture & Animation
For Students Who Want to Make Characters Move and Come Alive
Ever wondered how video games and movies make characters move so realistically? In
this session, you’ll explore the world of motion capture and animation. You’ll get
to see how real-life movement is captured and turned into fluid character animation.
You'll also get to animate your own character using motion capture technology and
add realistic movement to your designs. At the end of the week, you’ll have your own
animated scene to showcase!
Monday, July 14 – Friday, July 18
1-5 p.m. daily
What to Expect
Each session is designed for beginner students with a passion for animation, character creation, and storytelling. Our instructors are experienced animators who will guide you through each step of the creative process. You’ll gain hands-on experience, have fun discussing and watching animation, learn new software, and get a cool deliverable at the end of each camp.
Friday at 4 p.m. is the Parent Showcase, where family can see the cool things you’ve been up to and we’ll hand out some fun swag!

- Regular Registration Fee: $220 (May 30)
