This program from Pamplin College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences’ Department of Art & Design culminates in a capstone course in which students assemble an industry-ready body of work to launch a career on stage, on screen or behind the camera.

A Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital and Visual Storytelling allows you to have a professional career in art by giving you hands-on skills in the techniques and technologies of your chosen field.  This program is a practice-intensive concentration giving students an exceptional range of creative skills to visually express ideas through film and performance. These include abstract problem-solving, critical thinking, performing, creative visioning, digital storytelling, and other professional practice skills related to visual and performing arts.

Dynamic faculty with deep connections in the art world bring in professional artists, designers, scholars and leaders from an array of fields to interact with students through lectures, workshops and critiques.

Taking advantage of our designation as one of Georgia’s four research universities, the department hosts a series of interactive talks sponsored by Leonardo: The International Institute for the Arts, Sciences and Technology that promote collaboration between the arts and sciences.

The Mary S. Byrd Gallery of Art is located on campus and supports the arts and the department by promoting smart and relevant works by contemporary artists in all phases of their careers.
