Office of Student Affairs

The Office of Student Affairs is dedicated to helping you reach your full potential personally, professionally and academically by building community and offering a strong infrastructure of innovative student services, programs and resources designed to support you in becoming culturally competent, empathetic, patient-centered and ethical physicians.

We will be by your side throughout your medical school journey, from Orientation through Graduation and beyond! For some of you, this journey started back in high school or college as you participated in our summer pipeline programs. For others, we may have met you on recruiting trips, interviewed you, hosted you during Second Look or inducted you into medical school at the White Coat Ceremony. Even after Match Day, Hooding and Graduation have passed and you are well into your residency or practice, we hope that you will stay in touch and involved as Alumni. We hope that this site will help you learn more about our many programs and initiatives. If you have any questions, ideas or concerns, please feel free to contact us or just stop by GB 3300!

Medical College of Georgia's Mission & Vision

The Medical College of Georgia, as identified in the 2015 strategic plan, seeks to create a successful environment that supports faculty, students, residents, and staff.

The Office of Student Affairs in the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) at Augusta University is dedicated to helping each student achieve his or her highest potential personally, professionally and academically by fostering a successful and student-centered community. We provides leadership in overseeing the progress of students throughout their medical school years by providing education, counsel and advice to help transform students into culturally competent, empathic, patient-centered and ethical physicians.

Our Goals

  • Develop, implement and enhance practices and policies of student success that facilitate a culturally sensitive college and academic health center environment.
  • Optimize student success, and cultural sensitivity by fostering community engagement and partnerships focused on reducing factors associated with health care disparities.
  • Recruit, matriculate, and graduate an excellent, talented and successful student body to meet the needs of the communities we serve.
  • Grow health careers interest and academic pipeline programs in partnership with the University System of Georgia and other Georgia colleges and universities to promote health science interest and facilitate admissions and matriculation of students from under-represented populations.

Student Success

Student success statement:

MCG seeks to enhance success in its learning environment & address health care inequities in our communities by including all members in our learning community.
