How to Apply for Residency

How to Apply

All positions are offered through ERAS® in compliance with ACGME rules and regulations.

We offer 11 PGY1 categorical positions and one R spot each match cycle. Residents are selected through the NRMP.

Applications are accepted from September 15 through the end of January.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for interview each applicant's ERAS profile must have:

  • ERAS application
  • Dean's letter
  • USMLE transcript (minimum of 230 on Step 1 and 2 on first attempt) and/or COMLEX-USA transcript (minimum 560 on Level 1 and 2 on first attempt)
  • Three letters of recommendation, one of which must be from Anesthesia (we encourage standardized letters of recommendation)
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Medical school transcript
  • Recent photograph

Augusta University accepts those with a J-1 visa or Permanent Resident status. We do not sponsor H-1 or J-2 visas.

Prospective candidates must be eligible for J-1 Sponsorship by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, or possess a valid US Permanent Resident Card, or valid Employment Authorization Document. All international medical graduates must also hold a currently valid certificate from the ECFMG.

Interviews

All interviews will be conducted virtually via Thalamus. Candidates will need to have signaled our program. Our interview season typically runs from October to January.
