My teaching and research interests center on strengthening Tier 1 instruction through evidence based content literacy practices that empower both teachers and students across disciplines. I am particularly interested in how explicit literacy strategies, teacher clarity, and high-yield instructional routines improve student achievement in diverse, urban school settings. Additionally I aim to explore how school-based leadership structures and professional learning systems can build teacher capacity and create sustainable, high-quality instructional cultures.
My work teaching Content Literacy in the Educational Specialist program directly informs this research, allowing me to bridge theory and practice as I prepare advanced practitioners to implement rigorous, literacy-rich instruction in their own schools.
