Teaching Interests
I have put 30% of my effort in education by being active in educating medical and graduate students. In the classroom, my teaching philosophy is to engage my students in discussions, activities, and high-level thinking so they can apply what they have learned. To facilitate in higher learning, I use interesting learning strategies, including using the examples of daily or life stories to explain the key concepts in physiology, to grab students’ attention. Most of all, I believe that these strategies are effective to make learning physiology fun. I also believe that it's vitally important to stimulate students to think for themselves and to help them to learn problem-solving skills, which they will need them when they practice medicine or pursue an academic career. With quality and thorough instruction, my ultimate goal is to build a strong foundation for students in understanding Physiology and to prepare them for future challenges.

Research Interests
I have worked in the field of cytochrome P450 (CYP)-derived eicosanoids in cardiovascular diseases, renal diseases, and diabetes for more than 20 years. Throughout these years we have identified new compounds and pathways and elucidated their biological activities and their therapeutically potential for treatment of cardiovascular and diabetes-associated disorders.
