Bio

Native to Augusta, Georgia, Dr. Williamson is a three-time graduate of Augusta University. She graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education in 2005, a Master's degree in Educational Leadership in 2006, and a Specialist degree in Teaching and Learning in 2010. Dr. Williamson received her Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership and Management from Capella University in 2021. She holds certifications in Gifted Education, Reading, Mathematics, and Tier II Educational Leadership. This is her nineteenth year as an educator. Dr. Williamson has spent many years teaching gifted students and enjoys teaching educators how to use various instructional strategies to meet the learning needs of their gifted and talented students.

Teaching Interests

Dr. Williamson's teaching interests center on gifted education, STEAM learning, and technology integration, with a focus on innovative thinking and non-traditional methods that enhance engagement, enrichment, and real-life learning opportunities that challenge students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Research Interests

In addition to gifted education and STEAM learning, Dr. Williamson's research interests focus on exploring best teaching practices that expand authentic learning experiences. Her work emphasizes effective and varied assessment strategies, data-driven instruction, and the continuous use of data analysis and feedback implementation to refine instructional decision-making and improve student outcomes.
