Green-to-Gold Scholarship
Army ROTC Scholarships
The Green to Gold Scholarship provides selected active duty enlisted members of the
Army an opportunity to complete their baccalaureate degree requirements and obtain
a commission through participation in the ROTC program. If you are currently on active
duty and are accepted by a college or university, then you can compete for a Green
to Gold scholarship. There are a variety of Green to Gold Scholarships that range
widely in length and type of benefits.

Eligibility Requirements
- U.S. citizen.
- Age - Be under 31 years of age on December 31 of the year you complete all requirements
for a commission and a college baccalaureate degree. This is a statutory requirement
and there are no waivers authorized.
- Cannot have been convicted of a domestic violence crime.
- Have a minimum of two years active duty as well as three months of active duty for
every one month of specialized training (waiver can be requested).
- GT score of 110 or greater.
- Pass the APFT within the last six months with score of 180 or higher, minimum of 60
points in each event.
- Be a high school graduate or equivalent.
- Cumulative high school or college GPA of 2.5
- Letter of acceptance to school of choice offering Army ROTC.
- Letter of acceptance from the professor of military science of that Army ROTC Battalion.
- Favorable national agency check (or have initiated the action).
- DODMERB medical qualification or recent MEPS medical qualification.
- Be eligible to reenlist.
- Not be a conscientious objector.
- No more than three dependents including spouse.
Military Obligation
- Attend a five-week Advanced Camp between your 3rd and 4th Year at Fort Knox, Kentucky.
- Accept a commission to serve active duty, National Guard, or Army Reserve upon degree
completion.
- Serve in the military for a period of eight years. This may be fulfilled by:
- Serving active duty, if selected, for four years followed by four years of service
in the Inactive Ready Reserve (IRR)/National Guard/Army Reserve. Term of service begins
upon arrival at Basic Officer Leadership Course.
- Serve eight years in the National Guard/Army Reserves that includes a three to six
month active duty term for initial training. Terms of obligation begins at time of
commissioning.
