Confirm or Decline
Submit your Acceptance Agreement Form in your applicant portal to accept or decline your offer of admission. Applicants who do not accept offers of admission (or are not approved for a deferral) must submit a new application for consideration at a later term.
Defer
Some offers can be deferred to later terms (no later than one year after the semester of the initial offer) with program approval. To request an admission deferral, submit a defer request form to your applicant portal and include both the reason for your deferral request and your desired new entry term.
Pay Your Deposit (if required)
For programs that require an admission deposit, acceptance will not be confirmed until the deposit is received. Instructions for paying your deposit will be available in your applicant portal.
Submit Transcripts
Official transcripts or transcript evaluations must be sent directly from the issuing institution to Augusta University’s Office of Graduate Admissions Operations. Review your program's admission criteria page for submission deadlines.

Review Technical Standards
To qualify for enrollment, retention and graduation from academic programs in The Graduate School, an individual must satisfy certain technical standards. Acknowledgement of an understanding of these standards must be completed in your applicant portal.
Submit Additional Documents
Students requesting to pay at the in-state tuition rate must provide verification of lawful presence to be classified as an in-state student or awarded an out-of-state tuition waiver. Review your program’s admission criteria page for information on additional documentation requirements.
International Students
If you are an international student, once you have accepted the offer of admission and paid your required deposit (if applicable), you will receive an email from the International and Postdoctoral Services Office (ipso@augusta.edu) with instructions for accessing AU International to provide information and upload required documents.
Complete Background Check (if required)
Per the Augusta University Applicant Criminal Background Check Policy, final admission and enrollment for some TGS programs are conditional on the completion of a criminal background check with results deemed acceptable to the applicable college/program’s professional standards. The deadline is 3 weeks prior to the first day of classes. Review your program's admission criteria page to see if a background check is required.
Failure to complete the required background check, provide information necessary to conduct the background check, or provide false or misleading information, may disqualify applicants from final admission and matriculation into the program and university.
Instructions for completing criminal background checks will be provided to applicants upon acceptance into these programs. For further information on the policy including the policy statement, reason for the policy, authorization process, process/procedures, and review process, please refer to the Applicant Criminal Background Check Policy.
The Graduate School at Augusta University participates in the Council of Graduate Schools' Resolution Regarding Graduate Scholars, Fellows, Trainees and Assistantships.
TGS students are under no obligation to respond to offers of financial support prior to April 15 for the fall entry term. The full text of the CGS resolution and list of participating member institutions can be found on the CGS website.
