The CHEC Certification Program is designed within the framework of healthcare regulation and applies the proven “all-hazards” approach during emergencies and disasters. Certification includes concepts of:

  • Mitigation
  • Preparedness
  • Response
  • Recovery

The course uses didactic lecture, facilitated discussion, and practical exercise instructional techniques to credential the students.

History: The CHEC Certification Program was developed in conjunction with working groups consisting of hospital emergency preparedness personnel, HICS/NIMS/ICS experts,  first-responders, first-receivers, doctors, public health, and emergency managers.
